Abstract:
Purpose: the theme of this article: the Essence of the economic categories of "labor potential" and "employment", their relationship with the labor force. The subject of the research is the relationship of "labor potential" and "employment" with labor resources. Materials and methods: based on the analysis of literary sources, as well as international experience to explore the features of the economic categories of "labor potential" and "employment", as well as to reveal their relationship with the labor force. The methodological basis of this article is the literature on the development of economic categories "labor potential" and "employment", as well as open analytical materials of their relationship with the labor force. Results: this article defines the essence of economic categories "labor potential" and "employment". The analysis of their relationship with the workforce. The article assesses the problems of the category of "labor potential", its relationship with such a concept as "employment". The article reveals the relationship between employment and unemployment as an important macroeconomic category directly related to the labor market (the country or a particular region). Its structure and functioning are studied, and the importance of this market for any state, including the Russian one, is shown. Conclusions: To date, there is a decrease in employment of the economically active population of Russia. One of the reasons for the decline in employment is the constant fluctuations in the economy associated with the crisis, as well as the decline in economic growth. In this regard, a large mass of labor potential of the population remains unclaimed, which leads to an imbalance of the labor market. Application: The findings and results of the study can be used in the analysis of labor potential and employment as a separate region and the country as a whole, as well as in the analysis of their relationship with the labor force.
