Evaluation of the volumes of trading activity of leading marketplaces in Russia

Abstract:
Currently, the volume of activity of Russian marketplaces is growing every year. At the same time, the performance indicators of marketplaces are usually considered by various researchers as trade indicators. A study of the three largest marketplaces in Russia showed that trading activity accounts for only about a quarter of their total turnover. Therefore, taking into account the composition of technological operations carried out, it is not legitimate to classify the activities of marketplaces as the main trading activity, which is also confirmed by the dominance of income from non-trading services in their turnover. When studying marketplaces, they should be considered as a trading infrastructure that is not directly related to trading activities, but is a part of their ecosystem. The scientific value of the conducted research is to solve the problem of reliable estimation of the volume of trading activities of marketplaces based on the calculation of their own trading revenues. The article is of interest for further theoretical researches and for practical activities of businessmen in assessing the indicators of trading activity of marketplaces.
