Abstract:
The article continues the series of works devoted to the study of the role of universities in modern society. The results achieved by foreign and Russian universities in rating systems that assess the contribution of higher education institutions to sustainable development are presented. The results obtained during the analysis confirm the assumption that higher education institutions in Russia are actively involved in the process of forming the concept of a sustainable university and make a significant contribution to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Based on the example of foreign and domestic practices of implementing the concept of sustainable development of education in the strategy of modern universities, the authors substantiate the need to form sustainable university campuses in Russia which allow to solve current world problems more effectively.
The results of this study may be of interest to authorities and management, university management, researchers, postgraduates of Russian and foreign universities, teachers, as well as to all those interested in education for sustainable development.
