Attracting foreign direct investment in the Russian economy under the sanctions

Abstract:
Attraction of foreign investments is one of the strategically important directions of the Russian economy development. The introduction of sanctions had an impact on the change in the investment climate of the Russian Federation. Finding and removing obstacles to attracting foreign investment, creating a favorable investment climate are priorities in modern conditions. The article analyzes the impact of sanctions imposed by Western countries on the volume of foreign direct investment in Russia. The factors influencing the attraction of foreign investments, aggravated in the conditions of the imposed restrictions, are revealed. The author offers the measures to attract foreign investment, contributing to the increase of investment attractiveness of the Russian Federation in the current conditions of anti-Russian sanctions.
