Dynamic pricing model for the international air transport industry

Abstract:
The article presents the analysis of the world market of distribution services in the field of passenger air transport. Global (GDS) and alternative distribution systems (ADS) are compared. The results of the research of preferences of airlines when choosing the appropriate distribution channels are presented. It is established that, all other things being equal, low-cost airlines prefer to reduce the number of intermediaries in the distribution channels, as a result of which they sell most of their tickets through their own website. Low-cost airlines seek primarily to maximize the load of their aircraft in order to maximize revenue, as they have narrow price corridors for dynamic pricing. Traditional air carriers, in turn, seek to diversify both their services and distribution channels in order to cover as much of the customer segments as possible. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the booking system of a full-featured carrier is aimed at maximizing the cost-effectiveness indicator. The model of the air carrier booking system aimed at increasing the cost-effectiveness indicator is proposed and tested.
