Аннотация:
Основной задачей статьи является рассмотрение этапов становления американского частного сектора как ключевого актора в деле искоренения бедности, исторических факторов, ставших причиной формирования культуры благотворительности среди населения, а также препятствий, возникавших на этом пути. Помимо этого, в статье большое внимание уделяется мерам, которые американские филантропы предпринимали для облегчения положения слабых и безграмотных представителей низшего класса. В заключение, авторы данной статьи приходят к выводу об эффективности данной американской традиции и возможности применения этого опыта другими странами.

Abstract:
The main goal of the article is to overview the main phases of American private sector’s development as a key player in eradicating poverty, and historical reasons for the development of philanthropy culture among the population and obstacles encountered. In addition, the article focuses on the steps taken by American philanthropists in poverty alleviation. The authors conclude that this American tradition is efficient and it is possible to apply this experience in other countries.
