Abstract:
The use of the marketing conception of the strategic planning of the municipal entities’ sustainable development is necessary on all levels of public authorities and municipal self-government. This is related to the existing imbalance in spatial distribution of the economic activities along Russian territory. Every year this imbalance grows, creating a threat to the country’s economic safety and, eventually, to its territorial integrity. Territorial heterogeneity of the economic activities in Russia can bring Russia into the group of countries lacking actual control of their territories and spending much more economic, managerial and human resources than other countries in order to retain this control.
