Abstract:
The article analyzes the problems and prospects of the innovative development of rural areas in Russia, considering modern socioeconomic challenges and threats. The article examines the key factors hindering the introduction of innovations in agriculture and the social sphere, such as insufficient infrastructure, the outflow of qualified personnel, a low level of investment activity, and limited access to financial resources. The study pays special attention to potential threats to the sustainable development of rural areas related to technological changes, climate risks, and geopolitical instability. Based on this analysis, the article proposes recommendations for an effective innovation policy aimed at increasing the agricultural sector's competitiveness, improving the rural population's quality of life, and ensuring sustainable rural development. Government authorities, scientific organizations, businesses, and public organizations can use the results of the research to develop and implement effective strategies and programs for developing rural areas in Russia and for making managerial decisions in agricultural policy.
