Abstract:
The sports insurance market in Russia is not yet fully developed, but it has a high potential for development. First of all, this is reflected in the positive trends that can be observed today. However, there are also negative aspects, the key of which is the insufficient awareness of citizens about the possibilities of sports insurance, as well as the mentality of the population of the Russian Federation. At the same time, there is a problem with the activities of insurance companies themselves. In Russia, the state requires professional athletes to take out sports insurance in order to participate in competitions, which also leads to a decrease in the quality of insurance services. Simultaneously, insurance companies, as financial organisations, have the potential to be a significant driver of economic development, but there are certain obstacles, including institutional ones. Overcoming these difficulties will lead not only to an increase in the stability of companies that organize sports events, but also, in general, it will contribute to the economic growth of individual sectors of the economy and, as a result, to the national economy as a whole.
