Abstract:
The article examines the motivational structure and motivational models of students' secondary employment, their implementation and impact on the process of professional socialization of future specialists. The research is based on data obtained through the quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative research methods, which were used to determine and classify the motives of students' secondary employment, identify and describe the main motivational models of employment, and give their comparative characteristics. It is shown that the dominance of professional motives in the behavior of working students can be considered as a stage of their professional socialization. The author comes to the conclusion that in the "work-money" model, the goals of "earning income" and "getting education" come into conflict, and the social experience obtained in this work is not in demand in the professional sphere, and it does not contribute much to employment after graduation. Thus, omissions, poor academic performance deprive such graduates of competitive advantages in the labour market.
