Abstract:
The article examines the place and role of tourism industry in the social and economic development of the Astrakhan Region. The author shows the extent to which the performance of the sector has effect on the indicators of the region’s domestic product and the region’s income. The author identifies factors that determine performance of tourism entities and prerequisites for the further successful development of the industry in the region, she also gives some practical recommendations.
