Abstract:
Since the second half of the 20th century the search for solutions to global challenges is an essential feature of international relations. Russia is one of the few countries that fulfilled obligations of the Kyoto Protocol. It possess a high potential as an environmental player to mitigate the consequences of anthropogenic interference. The transition to innovation paradigm dwells upon the intertwining of population growth, economic development and technological change. This article analyses retrospective and potential trends of socio-economic development, as well as technological issues.
