    Abstract:
    The monograph generalizes 45-year research of low shrub population in the forests of southern taiga subzones. It addresses an important biological issue which consists in defining the state of the species in optimum and pessimum conditions. The author has developed a uniform technique to determine the ontogenetic state of components of low shrub coenopopulations, described the system of their adaptive responses to depressed seed regeneration, substantiated the relationship between population parameters and fruiting level, and suggested ways of economic development of resources.
