Abstract:
The problem of poverty as a complex socio-economic phenomenon, the emergence of which is caused by a variety of factors, is relevant for all countries in any historical conditions of development of society. However, at different stages of the economic development and for different groups of the population, it has its own distinctive features.
The article presents the results of a study on characteristics of Russian poverty. It is the presence of a significant proportion of working people among the poor. The study analyzes the dynamics of the working poor, lists the approaches used in world and domestic practice to determine their number, and examines the structure of the employed population, taking into account the poverty line. Some macroeconomic factors influencing the emergence and dynamics of poverty among the employed population have also been studied. This has allowed to identify a number of trends in this area.
