Abstract:
Russia's transition from an export and raw materials strategy to an innovative strategy focused on the development of high-tech industries, cognitive approaches to doing business, and the information environment is impossible without the formation of a new generation of specialists with high research and analytical competencies. After Russia's entry into the Bologna process, the postgraduate course was transformed into the third stage of education in order to prepare researchers-analysts capable of applying scientific potential, generating technological, technical, organizational and social innovations of various kinds, and using "knowledge-intensive" technologies in the real sector of the economy. However, this transformation of postgraduate study has exacerbated the problems of reproduction of human capital in higher education due to the annual decline in the number of postgraduate students defending their candidate theses and forming professional development strategies in higher education and research institutes. The results of the research presented in the article allow to identify the factors influencing the decision-making on professional self-determination of Russian postgraduates in universities.
