Abstract:
Purpose: given the essence of modern socio-economic transformation in neo-Marxism, there is a need to study the evolution of Marxism and the differentiation of its currents. This process allows a deeper understanding of this phenomenon in order to ensure Russia’s economic security in the modern world system. Russia has a unique and valuable spiritual and intellectual heritage in the field of economic thought, theoretical comprehension of the ways of development of modern Russia should be based on this knowledge. In view of the above, the aim and objectives of the research are actualized. Materials and methods: during the research, the main sources of the initial data were the fundamental and applied works of domestic and foreign scientists in the field of Marxism, its evolution and differentiation of its currents. The research is based on theoretical methods of scientific knowledge, in particular, on the use of the system method, comparative economic analysis, as well as methods of empirical cognition. Results: The article deals with the differentiation of Marxist trends and the evolution of Marxist trends. The essence of Marxism, non-Marxism is defined, the stages of development of neoMarxism are outlined. The currents of Marxism in the West are considered.The article discusses the differentiation of the Marxist movements and the evolution of Marxist currents. It defines the essence of Marxism, neomarxism, the stages of development neo-Marxist. Considered currents of Marxism in the West. Conclusions: Marxism is based on its unique human model. In general, Marx’s methodology is characterized by a pronounced methodological collectivism and functionalism. Key concepts such as «proletariat», «mankind», «capital» are regarded as independent subjects endowed with will and consciousness, performing a certain function both in the process of historical development and in the historically developed economic system. On the theories of Marxism lies the imprint of a certain socio-cultural era, which indicates the need for their revision. K. Marx developed the theory of formational and civilizational analysis of society, showed the tendency of the social nature of labor, the transformation of science into a productive force of society.
