Abstract:
The article discusses what initiatives African countries are taking to attract foreign direct investment (FDI). The author focuses the main attention on improving the institutional environment and improving the competitiveness of the economy through the modernization of transport infrastructure facilities. The article discusses the participation of FDI in public-private partnerships in the implementation of large infrastructure projects in Africa, such as railways and seaports. The author comes to the conclusion about the prospects of investing FDI, including Russian, in the development of African transport - this will improve the conditions for the carriage of goods by sea and diversify the railway network, which in turn will increase the attractiveness of the continent's economy for foreign investors.
