    Abstract:
    The monograph is devoted to the study of selected issues of territorial organization of local self-government related to the requirements for establishing the municipal boundaries, and the consequences of their establishment and change. The paper gives its own definition of the concept of "municipal boundaries". The author shows his position on the question of the most optimal correlation between the municipal spatial and administrative and territorial division of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The article studies the place of the sub-institution of the legal regime of the municipal boundary in the system of Russian municipal law. Furthermore, during the study, the author proposed his own concept of improving the legal procedure for changing the boundaries of the territories in which local self-government is exercised and the legal implications of such changes are known.
