Abstract:
Inclusion of HEIs in the innovative process of the country is a relevant task. One of the options for such inclusion is the transition of universities to the innovational education model. Insufficient attention that the scientific literature pays to this means of boosting the innovative activities of Russian HEIs obstacles the implementation of the strategy of innovational development of the regions and Russia as a whole. In this connection it is proposed to conduct a research aimed at determination of the role of innovation-oriented HEIs in the innovation development of the Russian Federation. Innovative development in Russia has been chosen as the research subject. To achieve the set goals, the authors have analyzed the main research works in the innovation sphere that were published in the period from 1993 to 2016. The obtained data may be used by the executive staff of Russian HEIs to increase the innovative activities of HEIs.
