Abstract:
The article has been prepared on the basis of the materials of sociological studies of the Institute of Socio-Economic Development of Territories of RAS (Vologda) that were conducted in 2014–2016. It reveals the peculiarities of the financial behavior of employees and entrepreneurs from the perspective of motives, attitudes and particular actions related to personal finances. It has been shown that the behavior of these social groups in relation to personal finances is determined by specific property rights to the means of production and also by unequal access to the material resources, as well as by personal traits related to the content of labor activities. It has been noted that the employees are more oriented towards current consumption and are distinguished by low saving activities. Unlike them, the entrepreneurs not only satisfy their consumer needs, but also form more complex strategies of financial behavior combining saving and credit actions.
