Abstract:
The increase in population leads to an increase in demand for food products, which, in turn, stimulates the development and use of advanced biotechnologies in agriculture and the food industry.
The development of agricultural biotechnology has led to a significant increase of commercial varieties of genetically modified organisms, which necessitates the application of modern digital technologies, both for analyzing the effectiveness of their use and for assessing the safety of use in food products.
The article uses methods of systematic analysis of scientific literature, comparative analysis, as well as methods of descriptive statistics processing to assess trends in their use in the food industry.
The following results were obtained. It was determined that the application of digital technologies allows to establish significant patterns and identify genetic variations and predict functional changes, including those that have a significant impact on food safety. The main areas of application of digital solutions were identified.
They include bioinformatics platforms, databases for tracking the origin and composition of food products, and artificial intelligence-based systems for predicting potential risks to humans.
