Abstract:
In order to identify the reserves of effectiveness of strategic methods, expert interviews highlight the characteristics of their implementation, the strategic tools used, and approaches to organizing implementation. The results were discussed with two groups of respondents. It was found that top managers use the same strategy in a changing business environment. They noted the effectiveness of the Porter's Five Forces Framework and the Generic Strategies Matrix. The SWOT analysis is effective in choosing business strategies for specific markets and identifying a company's place in the industry. The effectiveness of the BCG matrix also depends on the nature of the tasks to be solved. A discrepancy between the opinions of top managers and consultants using strategic methods regarding the effectiveness of approaches to organizing implementation was found. Consultants consider only 3-6 month implementation programs to be effective. The authors have made the following recommendations. It is necessary to develop strategies for each significant scenario of change in the business environment. Strategic tools should be used for their intended purpose. It is necessary to implement strategic methods on the basis of long-term cooperation programs with consultants.
