    Abstract:
    The monograph is devoted to the problem of mental health and personality of adolescents with a homosexual orientation. Homophobia, stigma and discrimination are major factors in depression, stress disorders and suicidal behavior among sexual minorities. This book describes the problems associated with homosexuality, including medical, social and psychological aspects. The results of the study the personality determinants of depression, suicidal ideation, and subjective well-being in homosexual adolescents are presented. By means of structural equation modeling we showed the effect of big five of personality traits, early maladaptive schemas, self-efficacy, proactivity and dispositional optimism in the level of depression, suicide risk and psychological well-being of homosexual adolescents. The book may be interesting to psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists and students of psychological faculties.
