Abstract:
The water supply and sewage system enterprises (WSS) in the Russian Federation account for 62% of the discharge of polluted wastewater. This requires the use of new approaches in solving technical, organizational and management issues of water supply and sewage system enterprises. The article considers the problems of improving the efficiency of domestic wastewater treatment using new management tools. The transition to technological rationing focuses on the change of technology, rather than management tools. The study worked out aspects of stakeholders engagement, sources of funding for projects for urban water utilities, compiled a matrix of responsibility. The use of benchmarking can be one of the ways to improve the efficiency of water supply and sewage system enterprise’s activity and their information transparency.
