A single services market within the framework of implementation of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union: opportunities and drawbacks

Abstract:
Determining the current state of the single market of services of the EAEU, the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, it seems appropriate to consider all possible options for the most optimal solutions that can ensure the achievement of the objectives of the Treaty on the Eurasian economic Union, as well as to realize the expectations of member States and citizens of the EAEU from its creation. It is noted that the EAEU countries have not yet revealed the potential of the formed Association for the formation of a positive investment climate among the participants, which would contribute to their integration into global production systems. Investment concessions can be offset by gains from trade under the agreement, and countries can carry out an integrated market opening process that inevitably affects both trade and investment. In order to solve the problems identified in the study, as well as to increase the pace of integration, the author proposes to refer to the accumulated set of proposals of member States, business and expert community aimed at strengthening the established foundation of the EAEU, as well as to consider the possibility and feasibility of their implementation.
