Abstract:
Currently, the number of deaths in the world from injuries in the workplace ranks third after cancer and heart disease, so the problem of occupational injuries, including the death of employees, continues to be relevant. According to the International Labor Organization, in the world, from accidents at work, one person dies every 15 seconds or 6 thousand people every day. The article presents an analysis of the indicators of occupational injuries in recent years, compared the recorded indicators of industrial injuries in the countries of the world and Russia, noted their significant differences. For the purpose of this study, we used statistical data from the Federal Service for State Statistics, the Federal Service for Labor and Employment, the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation, and the International Labor Organization and the European Union. It is noted that an increase in the level of injuries leads to an increase in production costs associated with economic consequences for workers and employers, as well as for the whole country and the world as a whole. The contradiction between deterioration of conditions and labor protection and a reduction in the frequency of accidents at Russian enterprises is indicated, as well as the impact of labor legislation on the quality of injury registration at Russian enterprises.
