    Abstract:
    In this monograph the author has substantiated a goal of foreign language (FL) teaching in nonlinguistic universities in the conditions of the information society. The main innovative development vectors of the profession-oriented system of foreign language teaching have been identified. Using the respective descriptors, the author has explained the structure of foreign-language professional competencies of a modern specialist. The didactic potential of using soft hardware in FL teaching has been described, the soft hardware means have been classified and possible application thereof for the educational purposes in nonlinguistic universities has been demonstrated. The author has presented the principles and substantiated the selection of FL education content in the conditions of use of the information-communicational technologies. Arguments for the information-communicational technology of FL teaching in nonlinguistic universities on the basis of the project method and soft hardware means at different forms of the educational process organization have been presented. The book may be of interest for specialists in the field of linguodidactics and foreign language teaching methodologies, students, postgraduate students, FL teachers. The teachers will be able to adjust the theoretical concepts and practical recommendations contained in this monograph to the particular education conditions easily. A broad circle of readers who take interest in methods of individual FL learning will find a lot of useful information in this book that will help them to understand the processes underlying FL learning and to manage these processes more consciously, confidently and independently, achieving quicker and more permanent results.
