Abstract:
The article has reviewed prospects for the development of Volgograd Region within implementation of the import phase-out policy. The study of options for the safe development of the regional social and economic system has been done. Official statistic indices have been analyzed that characterize competitiveness of the regional economy. The most prospective branches of the regional economy, from the viewpoint of the effective implementation of the import phase-out policy, have been pointed out. The structure of the regional gross domestic product upon the most troubled types of the economic activity in Russia from the viewpoint of the import phase-out has been reviewed. The main economic indicators for prospective types of the regional economic activity have been analyzed. In particular, the structure of the main industrial funds and investments to main industries has been reviewed. The need in additional investments, including the ones by the state has been found that is explained by difficulties in effective implementation of the import phase-out policy under the current conditions, from the viewpoint of the regional economic safety.
