Innovation: concept development and modern meaning in the context of Russian technological development priorities

Abstract:
The article describes the formation of the concept of innovation as a scientific category in various theoretical areas: the neoclassical paradigm, evolutionary economics, the model of national innovation systems and within the framework of the concept of sustainable development. The main stages of research of innovation as a field of study are highlighted, and the place of innovation within the framework of existing theories and models is clarified. The concept of technological mode is discussed; and its difference from the technical and economic mode, which is the basis of the classification of innovations, is shown. There is an attempt to rethink the definition of innovation considering the priorities identified in the Concept of Technological Development of Russia until 2030.
