Abstract:
At present, one of the main problems of the urban transport infrastructure is its extreme inadequacy, which, together with the constantly increasing level of motorization, leads to its congestion, which, in turn, results in traffic jams and an increase in the number of accidents.
The authors of the article suggest that when planning and developing strategies for the transport development of cities and agglomerations, it is necessary to take into account not only the traditionally used indicators of project efficiency but also the influence of external effects, including changes in the road transport situation.
The article will be of interest to specialists in the field of architecture of transport systems, transport engineering, and urban planning, as well as researchers dealing with problems of regional development and sustainable urban development. The results and conclusions presented in the article can be used to develop strategies and programs for the development of cities and agglomerations in conditions of limited urban space.
