Methodologies for assessing the effectiveness of the trade organization's resource potential

Abstract:
In modern Russia, the trade services sector is a dynamically developing area of the economy. The services provided by trade organizations are aimed at implementing business strategies with an emphasis on stable functioning and effective use of resource potential. It has been proven that the resource potential is able to increase the company's value in the market, contribute to achieving the set targets for sales, profits, and cash flows in the short and long term. In the article, the resource potential of trade organizations is considered in a component-by-component context: commodity resources, human resources, financial resources, fixed assets, marketing resources, innovative and information resources. The authors propose an approach to determining the structure of the resource potential of a trade organization and define the main evaluation criteria for the effectiveness of each component. Problematic aspects of assessing the effectiveness of using the resource potential of trade organizations have been identified,
These problems are proposed to be solved by using a step-by-step model for evaluating the effectiveness of resource potential. The basic block of the model includes an information base for calculating the evaluation criteria for the effectiveness of individual components of the resource potential. In the main block, evaluation criteria of effectiveness, deviations from planned values, standards, optimal or desired levels are calculated. The final block is a simulation model of the key criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of a trade organization. The advantages of the proposed model for evaluating the effectiveness of the resource potential of a trade organization are its flexibility and dynamism, adaptability to management requests, which determine the scale of its functionality.
