Abstract:
The main aspects of pandemics of the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries were studied. They are as follows: the country of the virus’s appearance, the country of the pandemic’s spread, the animals from which the virus was transmitted to humans, the economic consequences of the pandemic, the number of sick and fatal outcomes, prevention and protection measures against pandemics.
The connection and influence of viral infections of the 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries on economic processes is revealed. Analysis of chronological series to identify the relationship between pandemics and economic events (crises) was conducted. Goals/objectives. The purpose of this work is to analyze viral infections of the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries and their relationship and impact on economic processes. To achieve this goal, a number of tasks should be so;ved. They are as follows: to analyze the possibility of the transition of animal origin influenza to humans; to analyze the main aspects of pandemics of the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries; to analyze the impact of pandemics of the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries on the economy of countries; using chronological series to analyze the relationship between pandemics of the late 19th, 20th and early 21st centuries and economic events (crises).
The research methodology consisted of the application of chronological series in combination with a qualitative method of systematization and interpretation of scientific information, comparison and confirmation of results. Conclusions/significance. It is concluded that since 1979, the synchronicity of the emergence of crises and pandemics has become noticeable. The financial weakness of countries after crises was replaced and supplemented by the physical impact of viruses. Economically weakened states cannot provide sufficient protection against biological attack. Thus, viruses in countries weakened by crises lead to the death of people. Practical importance. Studying the threat will allow to develop a protection mechanism in the future.
