    Abstract:
    The monograph presents a summary of the results of work on the development of scientific propositions of the theory of the structural transformation of the natural coal-methane system, which is based on studies of the physicochemical properties of coal as a porous sorbent, and reasons for the difference in the sorption capacity of natural coals with respect to various gases and features of heat and mass transfer in a structured coal substance. We have developed modern methods for determining the sorption capacity, the magnitude of the sorption swelling, the gas release rate and the differential heats of adsorption of a coal substance, taking into account the transformation of its structure in the process of measuring these characteristics of coal. The monograph is presented in the form of lecture notes, the title name and content of which reflects the essence of the tasks or problems considered in them; their solution at the current moment emphasizes the close link between of the theory of structural transformation of the natural coal-methane system and practical tasks of this direction in mining science. The monograph is a contribution to the further development of a promising direction in the mining science “Physical chemistry of gas coal seam” and it is intended for experts in the field of mine aerology, and the fight against dangerous gas-dynamic phenomena in coalmines and coal mining methane.
