The main directions of agrarian sector’s modernization in Azerbaijan

Abstract:
In this article we considered the issues of modernization of the agricultural sector. With regard to the agricultural sector, we can say that modernization is the process of transformation of the agricultural sector in accordance with modern social, economic requirements and standards in order to accelerate its development. The article is devoted to the study of issues concerning the main directions of modernization of the agricultural sector as one of the leading sectors of the economy of Azerbaijan. The agricultural sector plays an important role in ensuring national food security. At the same time, the agricultural sector cannot develop steadily without state support. Since there is a set of factors that determine the need for state support for the main branch of the agricultural sector – agriculture. One of the main directions of state support is the modernization of the agricultural sector. The main objectives of modernization is to ensure the innovative development of the agricultural sector, i.e. to provide agricultural producers with advanced technologies, computerization of marketing and marketing activities. The purpose of the article is to consider the main directions of modernization of the agricultural sector, taking into account the characteristics of innovation. The scientific novelty of the article is to justify the need for modernization for the development of the agricultural sector and to identify the main features of the modernization of the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan.
