Abstract:
Purpose: based on the analysis of literary sources, international development experience, study the organizational and economic basis for the development of innovation in the agro-industrial sector, as well as the definition of approaches to ensure its effective functioning in the current economic conditions. Materials and methods: the methodological basis of the study consisted of the fundamental works of domestic scientists and economists on the development of innovative activities in the AIC; General scientific research methods were used (abstract-logical, economic-statistical, etc.), as well as open analytical materials on its use in the development of the agro-industrial complex. Results: the article defines that the key problem of agro-industrial production is innovative development, which allows changing the nature of production activities, moving to a new organizational and technological structure of agricultural production and ensuring the competitiveness of domestic products in sales markets. Conclusions: Russia's agro-industrial production plays a large role in the development of the Russian economy, and also occupies a significant share in the country's export of goods, demonstrates growing activity trends, and is also a component of the national economy and is a single integrated production and economic system.
