Abstract:
The paper analyzes the risks of economic security in the Bering Strait region from the perspective of the Pacific Arctic.
It concluded that without fundamental changes in socio-economic development, in particular in Chukotka, Russia, instead of ensuring its economic parity and priority here, will be doomed to infinitely growing allocations in the purely military-strategic sphere and, by and large, to the arms race, which, as world practice shows, does not fully guarantee national security, including in the Bering Strait region and the Pacific Arctic as a whole.
