Abstract:
The article presents the results of approbation of the methodology developed by the authors for determining the basic, leading and progressive sectors of industrial production in the region on the example of the Nizhny Novgorod region. As the basis for the study the official statistics have been used. As a result, the basic, leading and progressive sectors of industrial production of the Nizhny Novgorod region from the point of view of the solution of the investment problems have been defined. The considered industrial sectors in this case have a low, medium and high level of investment attractiveness. From a practical point of view, the results obtained in the article allow us to determine the most attractive sectors of industry for the nearest period of time, in terms of their current state, as well as prospects for their development. In addition, the obtained results allow us to identify those sectors of industry that need additional financial investments and increased attention from public authorities.
