Abstract:
Since the early 2010s, Malaysia has been one of the countries with the highest per capita income among developing countries. The noted successes of the country, expressed in sustainable growth rates and a significant improvement in the standard of living of the population, were achieved due to a number of different factors, among which the cluster policy should be highlighted. In this article, on the example of one of the growth corridors, South Iskandar, the development of such territories and their transformation are shown in detail, the main tasks of which are the eradication of poverty, the elimination of regional socio-economic barriers for the subsequent introduction of digital technologies and innovations. The accelerated economic growth rates, which are higher than the national average, the high investment inflows and successful projects in general demonstrate the locomotive role of such zones for economic growth, and allow Malaysia to be singled out as an example for other countries and regions.
