Abstract:
Purpose: of this article is to summarize and systematize the main theoretical aspects of the concept of “transaction sector”. Materials and methods: the study was performed using the general scientific methods of theoretical research. Among them abstraction, analysis and synthesis, generalization, systematic approach. Also used a graphical method of presenting information. Results: the article discusses the existing theoretical approaches to the study of the transaction sector. The nature and essence of the phenomenon are analyzed, the definition of this concept is proposed, its main functions are highlighted. The modern structural composition of the transactional sector, which is characterized by diversity and heterogeneity of its branches, organizations and activities, is considered. Conclusions: in today’s conditions of qualitative modification and complication of transactional services, when information is a key resource and the main instrument of transactional activity, it is advisable to consider the transaction sector in its broad sense. The importance of the transactional sector for the economy is revealed through a set of its main functions, the degree of realization of which determines its effectiveness. The complexity and modern dynamism of the structure of the transactional sector, consisting of subjects of public and private spheres, explains the difficulties of qualitative and quantitative assessments of the phenomenon under study. Existing estimates of specialists show that at present the transaction sector is a significant part of any economic system. However, the current qualitative flaws of the Russian transactional sector are an obstacle to the efficiency of reproduction processes and innovative capabilities of the national economy. This confirms the relevance of further research on the problems of domestic institutional development and the need to form a targeted transaction policy.
