Analytical review of technological innovation in the space industry

Abstract:
The article presents an analytical review of technological innovations in the space industry in the context of its development trends.
In order to determine the level of innovation activity of the Russian Federation in the global context, a comparative analysis of key indicators in the field of innovation of the permanent members of the UN Security Council was carried out. On the basis of the results of the analysis, a ranking that demonstrates the low level of innovation activity in the Russian Federation was formed.
The financial support of the state programs of the Russian Federation in the field of innovation and space activities is analyzed. This analysis allowed to draw the following conclusions.
The budget financing of the studied state programs is insufficient.
There is a lack of highly qualified personnel capable of working in a market environment and creating innovation.
There is a lack of an effective system of public-private partnership in the implementation of innovative projects by companies.
The private sector in space activities is underdeveloped.
The analytical study was supplemented by a SWOT analysis of the Russian space industry. This made it possible to outline ways to solve the identified problems, which will be discussed in the next article.
It is concluded that the trends in the space industry are driven by the rapid pace of innovative development, which contributes to more comprehensive international cooperation. However, Russia lags behind most countries in terms of innovation activity, since the main problem is the low demand for innovation in the national economy, which consequently negatively affects the development of the space industry.
