Abstract:
Currently, there are significant changes in the regional population structure, which is also associated with the interregional migration, namely the young population, whose purpose is to receive education. The authors have identified the main features of such concepts as academic mobility and educational migration, which consist in such characteristics as time and the fact of movement (physical or virtual ones). Based on Rosstat data, the article presents analytical materials, which give an idea of the situation of interregional educational migration flows, according to which there are traditional donor and recipient regions. This causes an outflow of the population aged 18-25 years, whose purpose is to choose a place of study, where territorial consolidation most often occurs. The authors propose a model of the factors influencing the educational migration of young people, including those that determine the region of study and the educational institutions. The research conducted can be useful for educational institutions and regional authorities in the design and implementation of policies aimed at attracting and retaining young people in the long term.
