<p>The article examines the transformation of the function of interaction with shareholders and investors (investor relations) in public companies amid a structural shift of the investor base towards retail (private) market participants. Based on the practice of Russian and foreign corporations, an analysis of investor relations strategies and the relationship between the quality and channels of investor relations and the liquidity of shares and the cost of capital is carried out. It is determined that digital investor relations channels (corporate accounts in social networks and media, live broadcasts, interactive platforms, and online investor days) ensure equal accessibility, reduce information asymmetry, narrow the difference between the purchase and sale price of company shares and reduce the premium for information risk, but at the same time they generate new categories of risks: selective disclosure and manipulative narrative. As a result, the article presents a model of the maturity of investor relations and recommendations, structured by management levels (board of directors and investor relations division management) to increase the reputational capital of disclosure.</p>
</abstract>
