<abstract xml:lang="en">
High-tech acquisitions can weaken the organizational foundations on which future innovation depends. This article addresses how team leadership can help preserve that innovation potential during post-merger integration. It develops a conceptual model through an integrative review of management, team, knowledge, and acquisition research. The model proposes that participation-supportive leadership is positively related to team reflexivity and that reflexive evaluation helps integration teams identify consequential differences in expertise, interpretation, priorities, dependencies, and interests. Boundary diagnosis then guides knowledge integration through mechanisms suited to the problem encountered, moving beyond transfer alone. Preservation is treated as the continuing viability and usability of the organizational system that sustains future innovation, distinguished from current innovation output. The pathway is conditioned by selective autonomy and by the distance, complementarity, and alignment of the knowledge being combined, while dimension-specific pacing and sequence operate as cross-cutting temporal qualifiers. The article offers scholars a multilevel explanation of post-merger innovation preservation and gives managers a basis for integration decisions that do not destroy acquired capabilities

<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">
