In the 20th century, humanity entered a new stage of development, fundamentally different from all previous periods of its evolution. It is characterized by a significant increase in the severity of global problems affecting the entire population of the Earth. One of the most urgent of them is the global food problem (GFP), which consists in the ability to provide humanity with enough food that is safe for human health without causing irreparable damage to nature. Since the beginning of the century, the GFP has been resolved only in terms of the growth in agricultural production, while the other two conditions have remained unfulfilled. Solving the challenges of the GFP is impossible without specific measures taken at the level of the agricultural sectors of countries, primarily those among the leaders of the agricultural world. In this paper, an assessment is made of how this task is being implemented, and, ultimately, to what extent countries from among the worldrsquo;s agricultural leaders correspond to this status, taking into account the solution of global challenges.
В XX веке человечество вступило в новый, принципиально отличный от всех предшествующих периодов своей эволюции, этап развития. Он характеризуется значительным нарастанием остроты проблем глобального масштаба, затрагивающих всё население Земли. Среди них одной из наиболее актуальных является глобальная продовольственная проблема (ГПП), которая состоит в способности обеспечить человечество достаточным количеством безопасного для здоровья людей продовольствием без нанесения непоправимого ущерба природе. За прошедший с начала века период решить ГПП удалось лишь в части роста объемов производства сельхозпродукции, тогда как два другие условия (безопасность для здоровья людей и исключение ущерба природе) остались невыполненными. Решение проблемы ГПП невозможно без конкретных мер, предпринимаемых на уровне аграрных секторов экономики отдельных стран, прежде всего относимых к числу лидеров аграрного мира. В настоящей статье проведена оценка того, как реализуется эта задача, и, в конечном итоге, насколько страны из числа мировых аграрных лидеров соответствуют этому статусу с учетом решения глобальных вызовов
