<abstract xml:lang="en">
The article examines the concept of the quadruple helix and creative industries as complementary sources of ensuring the competitiveness of local communities based on creativity and knowledge. It is shown that the quadruple helix makes it possible to include representatives of civil society in the innovation process as business entities. They find original and non-standard approaches to solving socio-economic problems. Creative industries are associated with the creation and use of knowledge and information and include a wide range of activities involving the organization of creative thinking. They have a significant impact on the processes associated with the search and discovery of new sources of growth that are not related to the traditional factors of production. Examples of a creative city, as well as the fashion and design industries, illustrate the points of contact between the quadruple helix and creative industries. It is concluded that the quadruple helix mechanism serves as a way to activate the creative industries sector and create high-value-added products.

<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">
