<abstract xml:lang="en">
Intensifying technological competition has heightened the need to identify mechanisms for enhancing innovation performance. National economies are paying attention to the effectiveness of small technology businesses. Russian innovative companies operate under specific resource-constrained conditions, which underscores the importance of finding ways to overcome constraints and improve efficiency. Bricolage represents one of the strategies for mitigating resource barriers. The article aims to assess the impact of bricolage on the innovation performance of resource-constrained small and medium-sized companies. The author employed a quantitative approach involving an online survey of 100 executives, followed by statistical analysis. The findings contribute to resource-based theory by demonstrating the non-linear nature of the relationship between resource availability and small and medium-sized business innovation capabilities. The evidence supports a differentiated approach to bricolage: under low and moderate constraints, its application may stimulate innovation performance; and under critical constraints, alternative strategies may be pursued.

<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">
