<abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article examines the contribution of e-commerce to the Peru's economic development amid global and regional digitalization trends. The role of e-commerce for economic growth is shown. Special attention is paid to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on accelerating the digital transformation of retail and changing consumer habits. The most promising sectors and key drivers of e-commerce growth, including Internet penetration and mobile device usage, have been identified. The material will be useful to researchers and academic staff in the field of digital economy and e-commerce, business people, as well as government officials and politicians dealing with issues of digitalization and economic development in developing countries, especially in Latin America.</p>

<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>В статье рассматривается вклад электронной коммерции в экономическое развитие Перу на фоне глобальных и региональных тенденций цифровизации. Показана роль электронной коммерции для экономического роста. Особое внимание уделено влиянию пандемии Covid-19 на ускорение цифровой трансформации розничной торговли и изменению потребительских привычек. Выявлены наиболее перспективные секторы и ключевые драйверы роста электронной коммерции, включая проникновение интернета и использование мобильных устройств. Материал будет полезен исследователям и преподавателям в области цифровой экономики и электронной коммерции, предпринимателям, а также государственным служащим и политикам, занимающимся вопросами цифровизации и экономического развития развивающихся стран, особенно в Латинской Америке</p>
