The article examines the trends in the development of cattle breeding in different countries of the world for the period from 1990 to 2023. The indicators of the functioning and development of the sub-sector are analyzed. They are: cattle population, the volume of production, export and import of cattle products, as well as the amount of consumption of milk and cattle meat. The conducted research allowed to identify the leading countries in the production of livestock products, to determine Russia's place in the world market of milk and cattle meat, and to identify the main trends in the development of the sub-sector in different countries of the world. Taking into account the current trends in the development of cattle breeding, Russia should form its own approach to the development of the sub-sector, taking into account the positive experience of foreign countries, the available resource potential and the set strategic goals.
В статье рассмотрены тенденции развития скотоводства различных странах мира за период с 1990 по 2023 гг. Проанализированы показатели функционирования и развития подотрасли: размер поголовья крупного рогатого скота, объем производства, экспорта и импорта продукции скотоводства, а также размер потребления молока и мяса крупного рогатого скота. Проведенное исследования позволило определить страны-лидеры по производству продукции скотоводства и установить место, которое занимает Россия на мировом рынке молока и мяса крупного рогатого скота; выявить ключевые тренды развития подотрасли в разных странах мира. Учитывая современные тенденции развития скотоводства, России следует сформировать собственный подход к развитию подотрасли с учетом положительного опыта зарубежных стран, имеющимся ресурсным потенциалом и поставленными стратегическими целями.
