The higher education system is facing mounting pressure from changes in technology, particularly the advent of artificial intelligence. An intergenerational conflict is emerging between educators who acquired knowledge through traditional methods and students who are accustomed to utilizing digital resources. In order to address these shortcomings, educators must integrate pedagogical innovation to sustain student engagement in their courses and facilitate active participation in the learning process. The article's distinctive contribution is the introduction of novel techniques for solving economic problems. The article illustrates the implementation of imaginative thinking cases in the teaching disciplines of economics at Russian universities. The authors elucidate the particular forms of foreign experience with the implementation of films in the classroom setting, specifically within the context of disciplines of economics. The subsequent phase of development entailed an intellectual competition between two teams of students, each defending a contrasting position through the creation of their own cases pertaining to a specified economic issue. This battle format allowed for a rigorous examination of contrasting perspectives on the specified economic issue. This pedagogical innovation, grounded in a practice-oriented approach, holds immense potential for enhancing the calibre of higher education in Russian universities. The findings of this study may prove invaluable for academic staff at Russian universities and for anyone engaged with the intricacies of the creative economy.

Система высшего образования находится под усиливающимся давлением изменений технологий и, прежде всего, искусственного интеллекта. Нарастает «межпоколенческий конфликт» между преподавателями, которые получали знания, используя ручку и бумагу, и студентами, которые привыкли применять Интернет и электронные устройства. Для преодоления данных разрывов преподаватели должны вводить педагогические инновации, чтобы сохранить интерес к своим предметам и обеспечить вовлеченность студентов в учебный процесс. Новизна статьи проявляется во введении авторами креативных методов решения экономических проблем. В статье продемонстрирована практика применения кейсов образного мышления на занятиях по экономическим дисциплинам в российских университетах. Авторы раскрывают конкретные формы зарубежного опыта использования фильмов на занятиях по экономическим дисциплинам. Следующей ступенью прогресса стало использование «баттла», как интеллектуального соревнования двух команд студентов, отстаивающих противоположные позиции, за счёт создания собственных кейсов по заданной экономической проблеме. Практико-ориентированный подход данной педагогической инновации позволяет повысить качество высшего образования в университетах России. Результаты исследования могут быть полезны преподавателям российских университетов, всем, кто интересуется проблемами креативной экономики
