The presented article solves the scientific problem of improving the export policy of states on the global arms market, which, as shown in the study, is undergoing changes due to the influence of historical factors, changes in the structure of national defense-industrial complexes, as well as under the influence of the breadth and depth of the current military conflicts between countries. Corrupt intermediaries have been shown to reduce transparency in foreign arms transfers and to make export policies unstable and subject to shifting priorities. The extreme differentiation of export policy across countries has been revealed. This differentiation in many countries is increasingly associated with a focus on strengthening national arms production. In the future, the export policies of countries in the international arms trade will largely be determined by the growing demand for weapons, the intensification of geopolitical confrontation between countries and the risks of the development of the world economy as a whole.
